About Us

Hi there! My name is Abigail and that handsome man up there next to me is Adam.

So you want to know about our lives? *smile*. I'd be happy to tell you!

I was born in Tennessee in 1995, and Adam in New Jersey in 1984. Yep, 11 years apart! But we can't help but think we see the hand of God in our finding each other.

I was raised by missionary parents and when they decided to return home after a total of 10 years in Tanzania, East Africa, I decided to remain behind and see my dream of a public library (that is to function as an educational center) to reality. Just about the time when I was getting things together, Adam came on the screen and now, we are both going to be working in Tanzania. Adam will be assisting me with the library, and helping TZ2000 ( the team we will be joining) start a radio station that will impact many.

I found out I was pregnant on June 4th, 2014, and it changed our plans. On February 14th 2015 we welcomed Jubilee Louise. She is such a joy and delight. We decided to wait, finish working on "The Christian Graces", a book we are translating into Swahili and see where God takes us. On March 20th 2017 God blessed us with another girl, Lydia Brooke.

So, this is our journey. Join us, help us and change lives. We're only given so much time on this earth. Let's use it to the best of our ability.

Reaching Out

Hello from Pa! We had another great clothing giveaway on November 7th. The congregation really stepped up and we had even more clothes to give out to the community this time. It was a good thing too, because a friend of a family who lost their home to a fire stopped by and gathered up 12-15 bags of clothes and food. That brought our total to 75 bags of clothing and food given out and 18 families aided. We also had a member bring a bunch of books she no longer needed. When I saw this table, all I could think was "I need these!" Even though they were mostly children's books, there was this desire to take them all home with me. I obviously have a problem, hehe. The helpers enjoyed a meal of sloppy joes and baked beans. We would have had a bigger turn out but one of the members needed help moving so 5 or 6 men spent all morning and some of the afternoon assisting them. All in all, it was a great day. An Observation

An Observation      Recently, Lindsey was hired by World Bible School to hand out lessons and see that they are graded. She thought that stopping by the Arusha Library she might be able to find a few English speaking people with whom she could conduct a bible study. The library is about 30 minutes from our house and in the middle of town.      You can not see it, but it has a downstairs area where the children's section is located. (This picture was not taken by me)       Lindsey asked that I accom...
Hi... This blog is meant to serve two purposes. A place for me to write and talk about my life in Africa and a place where those that support the Parker Memorial Library can read about how the library is progressing. I hope that in both purposes, the read is informative and enjoyable! I will be sure to post pictures and write at least once a week.   Our plane ride to the States went very well. It was great to be able to celebrate with Todd and Lauren on their wedding day. My grandparent's farm was a great place to have it (minus the cow patties :)). I think my favorite part was helping direct the wedding.   The library is on it's way to being established! This weekend I have been invited to show my presentation (which I will put on here in good time) to the Logan Martin congregation (in Pell City, AL) after services. There are still many things to do, but with God's help, all will be accomplished. ...
