The Lord's Providence is Amazing!

Beautiful Mount Meru
                                                                       Greetings!

This post is ridiculously overdue and I ask for your forgiveness. I have been preoccupied, as you will see. While I have not been as focused on the library itself as much, what I am about to tell you is going to effect the library tremendously! I will not go into all the details, as that would make for a very long story. I will try and just give the information that is necessary, while still making it interesting.

Back in August of last year, I met Adam Rymon at Polishing the Pulpit (a week long lectureship held in Pigeon Forge, TN). We talked for about ten minutes, basically introducing ourselves and went on our own ways. I did, however, send him a friend request on Facebook, to which he accepted. In late October, he messaged me and it paved the way to the start of a wonderful friendship. Adam is from Pennsylvania, and has been the full time preacher at the Coventry Hills congregation for the last four years. We found that we were very much alike, though our tastes in music and food highly differed :). Time passed and we found ourselves talking every morning for three hours.

With my father's permission, we began our very brief courtship, and as the 4th, we are engaged. My ring comes back with Dad, and the wedding date is planned for April 25th, here in Tanzania. Quick? Yes, but we believe we both are ready. If you had told me in early October that I was getting married in 6 months, I would have laughed and said " I don't think so!" It certainly seems that the Lord has had a hand in us finding each other. One can not say " It was the Lord!" but it is hard not to wonder. But, either way, I know I have been blessed beyond measure. Here is a picture (it's the only one I have) of us:

The pictures are a little old, but it'll do for now.

How does this effect the library you may ask? Adam will be joining me in this work. In a few of my previous posts I had mentioned Adam, and even then, he was trying to improve the fundraising efforts that PML had been using. The Lord knew I didn't need to come back to Africa by myself and that I needed a husband to really get this library up and going. Not only will Adam be there working with me, as another librarian and evangelist, the TZ 2000 mission has long wanted to start a radio station. For several years now, Adam has been highly interested in radio work. Though things aren't set in stone, he would love to assist them in getting that started. Our plans are to get married in 45 days, and return to PA two weeks later to begin raising funds for the library and our life in Africa. We hope to return to TZ  at the end of August or early September.

(On a side note: For quite some time now, my parents had been prayerfully considering returning to the States for good. Last month, they informed all of our supporters, that yes, that was what they deemed best. Much was done in February to prepare to leave in May or early June. We moved into a smaller furnished house that will allow them to depart more easily. After living in Africa for ten years, I think returning to America will be a nice change for my parents. They have done a lot of good, and they will continue to do good, wherever they may be.)

So, that's my exciting news! I will stay busy, getting things together for the wedding. It will be simple but elegant. As much as I hate that my grandparents and other relatives (including Adam's family)can not attend the wedding, we planned to stream it live. Our families have been very supportive and for that I am thankful.

Our brick count is now 318 ( it was 208)! I want to again thank everyone who has given to this particular cause. It is greatly appreciated! We'll have that wall up in no time.

As I close, I am also happy to announce that the Duluth church of Christ in Duluth, GA has promised PML $1,000. That brings us to $4,930! ( In the past, I had included $3,000 that belonged to me, and I wanted to spend it on the library, but with an impeding wedding I have taken it and chosen to spend it on mine and Adam's future life.)

Thanks be to God for all His many blessings!

What a wonderful season Christmas is. Pretty lights, the scent of pine trees, delicious goodies and time with family! You want to hear a funny story? Adam has needed a new office chair for quite some time. Recently, I sat down on it with him and crack! I broke it. The poor thing would lean to one side when you sat on it.  So, I bought him the exact same one, brand new, for Christmas. It arrived today and I secretly began trying to put it together in the laundry room. After about two hours, I gave up. I decided to let him have it early so he could help me finish putting the pieces together (smart, huh). Well, he gets to looking at it and discovers I've placed the armrests on the wrong sides. Fix that, everything else goes in place. Ta-da! All finished. Get it into the office and it won't tilt back. Adam fiddles with the chair, sits back down, and almost falls face forward because it's leaning the wrong way! We had a good laugh over it. But I've learned m...

Bibles to New Converts in Uganda!

To all my few but faithful readers, I hope you all have had a fine Sunday! It has been a good one here at Coventry Hills. Around the time we were finishing up gathering Isaya Bwile's needed school funds, Richard Olwenyi (a old school classmate of mine from the Andrew Connally School of Preaching) asked if we might help him out in procuring funds for bibles for the new converts in his area. He preaches for a small but growing congregation.  You know me, I'm all about books and education, so I said we'd see what we could do. The Lord blessed our efforts! Enough money was raised to buy 105 bibles! I thought that number would be 107, but Richard had to use a little bit of the money in order to travel some 4 hours there and back to buy them. You know how you stress out about doing something you've never done before and you realize, "Boy, that was easy. Why in the world did I spend so much time worrying." That's what I did when it came to sending the mon...
