Progress

We had a great time at Polishing the Pulpit this year in Sevierville, TN.  A big thanks is extended towards the Bradd family for allowing us to stay in their lovely rented cabin. Their five boys all have names beginning with the letter "A" so we fit in real well. Ha/ha.

We set up a table, and a donation box like last year saying " What's a dollar? Help send books to Africa." Adam and I talked with several individuals who advised us concerning purchasing items for the library in order to make the best use of the money. Over the next week or so, Adam will be writing a few posts to inform you about these ideas! Also about 10 men said they would spread the news about the library in order to help us raise the needed funds.

Introducing PML's new logo! Adam and Mrs. Hochdorf (with just a few tiny suggestions from me) designed it a few months ago, but not until PTP were we able to really use it. In my opinion, it's great by itself or when paired with " Parker Memorial Library" (subtracting the typed "P" for the tree "P.").

      More news to come soon!

     Till then,
Adam and Abigail

What an Experience!

Wow, PTP has been really nice.  A lot of old faces and some new. To think, I may not know everyone here but they're all a part of the church of Christ. It's that wonderful bond that Christ has given us! And because we are all apart of the Church ( and I would even say, among the strong and faithful), the lessons are on a deeper level. Since we all know the stories ( accounts), we can dive into the Word- comparing this and applying that.          After several weeks of gathering and putting it together ( I had the hardest time getting the green lettering on the black project board to stay on) I set up my booth in the vending area. I was quite surprised to see so many others doing exactly what I'm doing. But I should have thought, " 3,000 people are coming, tons of other people will be using this great oppo...
Well folks, it's been a while since I've written and for that I apologize. I just didn't feel like I had much to say in the progress of the library ( or my life for that matter- we traveled here, we traveled there), but now I clearly have enough. :) Since GBN I have tried to contact several people in  many congregations, attempting to get either one-time funds or monthly support.  I've gotten some  no's and have yet to receive any donations. But I've been told that you have to get a certain number of "no's" before you can get any "yes's".  I just spent the last  week in Montgomery. Dad was recording a class that he's teaching at Faulkner ( he's not going to be able to be there for all the semester). Me and David tagged along, hoping to get a few things done. Todd had agreed to give me some driving lessons and Robert Waggoner had told me to stop by when I got the chance and go through some books of his to see if I w...

An Observation

An Observation      Recently, Lindsey was hired by World Bible School to hand out lessons and see that they are graded. She thought that stopping by the Arusha Library she might be able to find a few English speaking people with whom she could conduct a bible study. The library is about 30 minutes from our house and in the middle of town.      You can not see it, but it has a downstairs area where the children's section is located. (This picture was not taken by me)       Lindsey asked that I accom...
